CityConnect’s free adult cycle training to finish in October for this year

After two successful years of delivery, our free adult cycle training will finish in October for this year.

19 September 2019

From learning to ride to cycling in traffic, tackling busy junctions and bike maintenance more than 1,800 people have benefitted from a total of nearly 12,000 hours of training since August 2017.

The scheme has seen:

  • more than 550 people learn to ride a bike for the first time;
  • more than 800 people complete training to boost their confidence cycling on roads;
  • 350 jobseekers and apprentices access a bike, helping people overcome transport costs and connecting them with more employment and training opportunities.

Public training has been available across West Yorkshire’s major towns and cities, as well as community venues and workplaces.

Public sessions will continue until Wednesday 9 October.
