Thank you for your patience while the works on CityConnect CS2 have been on going. CS2 runs from Leeds, along the A64 corridor, towards Seacroft. As we mentioned in the previous update, there has been issues with the construction of this section which have caused delays. Currently, the A64 is 95% complete with construction works due to complete by 17th October on the inbound side, and by the end of October on the outbound side. Superficial works – painting lines, laying the green surface, and signage – is ongoing along the route and will complete after the construction works. The works yet to be completed will focus on two short sections of the route – From Gipton Approach to Osmondthorpe Lane, and the junction of Torre Road. There will also be a temporary solution around Seacroft Hospital, which is an area due for redevelopment as part of a wider scheme.
We understand the frustration the ongoing works have caused to those who live, work and travel on the A64 corridor and regret that we could not be more specific with completion dates previously. These works have to be prioritised alongside further works planned by the Leeds Highways department, including a schedule for carriageway resurfacing throughout the autumn. We will endeavour to provide updates as and when we have them.
Once complete, there will be an official opening. Please stay tuned to Facebook, Twitter and this website for more information.
