go:walking aims to encourage more people to walk more often and is co-ordinated by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, in partnership with the councils in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leeds. It is managed by Living Streets the UK charity for everyday walking.
Walking for just 20 minutes a day can transform fitness levels, improve health and reduce stress and anxiety.
go:walking is running in 12 wards across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leeds. Between July and November 2016 go:walking is offering small grants to organisations in these areas to deliver projects that encourage more people to walk more often. These projects will be delivered between August 2015 and March 2017. Case studies of grant funded projects will be uploaded to the website over the autumn. The small grant scheme closes on Friday 25th November 2016. Application forms, guidance and information on eligible areas are available here
